This Saturday, Prairie Brothers Brewing Company is giving locals an opportunity to meet and greet adoptable dogs, and to raise funds for Homeward Animal Shelter.

From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, one dollar from every pint of craft beer will be donated to the shelter, while the dogs get some socialization and exposure that will hopefully help them find their forever homes. The brewery hosted a similar fundraiser back in June, and has also raised funds for the American Cancer Society.

Homeward Animal Shelter was founded over 50 years ago, and has since found homes for over 30,000 animals. This shelter operates through an extensive network of foster homes and affiliations with other rescues, so animals are never euthanized due to lack of space. All animals in their care are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Earlier this year, the shelter was awarded the 2017 People’s Choice Award from the Chamber of Commerce of Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo.

Prairie Brothers Brewing Company opened its doors back in 2015, having been founded by beer enthusiast and homebrewer Don Kenna. Despite not having a brother, he chose the name he hoped would make customers feel like part of an extended family. The establishment’s slogan is “Beer makes everyone family.”
