Homeward Animal Shelter has organized a fundraiser for a sweet little five-pound poodle named Ellie May. Years ago she was rescued from a puppy mill and given a new home. But unfortunately she had more medical issues than anticipated, so her owner had to surrender her to get her the medical care she needed.
When Ellie May arrived at the shelter, she came in hopping on only three of her legs. The veterinarian has determined that she’s in chronic pain, and is going to need her injured leg amputated to make it stop.
Luckily, things are already looking up for Ellie May. Her adoption by her foster owner is currently pending, and Dogs By Design generously gave her a free makeover, so that no matter what happens to her legs, she’ll come out looking clean and adorable.
But Homeward Animal Shelter could use some help paying for her surgery. So far $370 has been raised, and there’s eight days left to meet the goal of $1,500.
If you can’t donate, spread the word and keep this lovely girl smiling.
