Homeward Animal Shelter Microchip Clinic
Tuesday, August 12th
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
1201 28th Ave N
Fargo, ND 58102
The Fargo-Moorhead Humane Society, which has recently been renamed Homeward Animal Shelter, will be holding their microchip clinic on August 12th this month. The clinic is first-come, first-serve, and costs $30 per pet.
Microchips are radio-frequency ID implants about the size of a grain of rice, and they’re injected just under the loose skin between the animal’s shoulder blades. This procedure does not require anesthesia, and it increases the chances of being reunited with a lost cat or dog.
Each chip has a numeric code that’s logged onto a national database, which contains the owner’s name, address, and contact information. If a pet gets lost, their chip can be scanned for identification at a shelter or a veterinary clinic.
In the case that you move to a new address, or your phone number changes, you must contact the registry to update your information for a small fee.
If you miss this one, the next clinic will be Saturday, September 27th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
